New video alert!
Earlier this year we collaborated with Vilkas on the creation of this music video for our song “Little Things”. Inspired by Home Body’s live DIY light show in which Haley uses hand-held faders and foot switches to manipulate the lights, the video centers around the spectacle of illumination. Shot on an unseasonably balmy evening in a sprawling warehouse a couple blocks away from our home in Greenfield, Mass, the video combines Home Body’s own light gadgetry with the production company’s arsenal of projectors, fog machines, LED’s, antique lamp, and even a custom built hand fader (made out of an old Altoids container!). Just as Eric improvises with knobs and buttons on his synthesizers throughout the song, Haley manipulates the lighting schemes, both of us punctuating the track’s emotional peaks and valleys vibrationally – through sound and light.
A battle cry of sorts, “Little Things” is about overcoming personal obstacles, structural inequalities, capitalism, and cycles of oppression together. “Little things are not so small, add us up and watch them fall down…I’ll never be won, I’ll never be one!”
“Little Things” is going to be on our forthcoming album (!!), which is really, really close to being done – we’re mixing the last few songs as we speak! We’re thrilled with how these new recordings sound and can’t wait to share our most personal, shadowy, and lush record yet.
